I loving honours.... Its realy a very wonderful experience which involve 3 main components, namely study, lab work and teaching 1st year lab. except for studying, I'm really enjoying the hectic but interesting life.
Getting really involved in research, loving the way chemistry goes, but also i'm lucky to have reactions working which is a very important source of interest building factor in research. There are alot of time where experiments do fail me, but with perseverance and most importantly, the help from wonderful people, I have manage to make things work till date.
As for the 1st year labs... I was extremely nervous, stressed about it. not being very knowledgeable but yet have to teach them is a very challenging task. But I really love it. I had bad times too with the kids but after time, you get to know them, be friends with them, try to understand what methods would be more efficient to teach them etc. Really happy to put in effort to create new ideas to bring across what I want to convey and having others to be impressed by the effort is really fulfilling. And you also get lots of amusing times during labs, the qns they ask, while marking their reports, the ans they give... I can finally understand how a lecturer/ parents would feel... sometimes you just dont know if you should laugh or cry...
Anyway, although this year is really hectic and painful, but it has its wonderful times too.. loving and hating it at the same time...

In Love with Benzene....
Benzene is carcinogenic... BUT... its so pretty!!! when you cool it down to zero degree C, it solidifies and form bee hives like crystals!!! and when you vac it down (evaporate) and cools down at -78 degree C, it forms icicles!!! very very pretty... too bad no camera with me... its really awesome...

Almost broke down again in lec.. spare me from phy chem... i really HATE it... but lucky Mark J is vvvvvvvvvv nice... he is just so awesome!!! after lec, he asked if me n karen understands, n obviously we dont and so he started explaining. He's really smart and really ables to explain very well... he and his gf are really a perfect match... Last fri, I met him on the way to lab demo and he asked how i was and i said i'm tired and he gave me a hug... it was really sweet... we're not very close friend, but he's really a wonderful person.. he then gave me tips for the lab demo and was great...
I had really quite a few encounter with awesome people, helping me through and guiding me along.. really v fortunate. even people whom i dont really talked to offered their help. when family is not around, these are people you need to make your life feels better...

wonder if anyone still visit this page... =p
have been in my own world... pictures seems normal, life seems fun... but its just a mmt or two...
even before sch term starts, i already started my honors year.. I was really enjoying the lab work, getting in at 8 and dont mind staying till 10pm (so far the record) but when course work start, its really draining me... i study whenever i have the time, normally away from lab... skipping dinner once in awhile, hoping to finish more work and at the same time slim down... but guess its a wrong decision... i really became v lethargic, relying more on caffine but now even pure caffine seems to lose it effect on me... listen to xiao bai cai, started eating dinner again... hope things will be back on track... i'm also doing lab demo for 1st yr, it was stressful... but fun in a way... students like you, students hate u... haa thats just life... its only my first time, cut me some slack kids...
no longer going to the gym, picked up tennis recently. other then lesson on every wed, now having private training from hiroshi as well.. he's really good.. its really nice to see him play.. hope me and kelly can pick up soon...
anyway been really missing friends back home, watching the video you guys made... n ern n rus as well, first sem in anu, what a wonderful time we share... ivy n julia, last sem was crazy bitchy sem...
gosh.... i simply just miss life... books + me will never be equivalent to life...

This summer was really an expected enjoyable valuable experience...
Taken up a summer research scholarship, doing research which acts as a bridging process mainly for us going to honours. Alot of new friends all around aust n NZ but mainly my fav hanging out group includes... Ruth, Lydia, Xiao mao, xiao bai cai, joo tou, ham bao n simon... it has really been of great fun, going for dinners, drinks, syd, steamboat etc... but almost everyone left... tmr morning after mao mao leave, it would really be so boring then... anyway in short, no regrets staying, its really a diff experience and doing lots more stuff than i usually do in canberra... gym, swim, piano, ran along lake, play pool, lots more... normal, but it just feels great... especially piano!!! really so happy about that... but ruth is gone... hope mao mao wont mind teaching me.. =p anyway... here are the peeps...

MIA for some time...
Right after exams, I've started my Summer Research scholarship with Mick... Wasnt sure how things would be like staying in Burgmann, meeting new peeps and the research... Staying in Burg is crap, the undergrad is really quite bad esp the first few days, its just like an oven but got better recently as the weather was cooler... has been going to the gym with lydia bumping into mark, zu and andrew... seriously, the guys are always there... should really learn from them, exercise more frequently... went swimming with ivy as well at AIS!! its awesome! std oly size pools etc... play pool, shopping and also went syd for bridge climb!!! it was really scary at first, but when you're right at the top, its really wonderful, its really nice. also went for Canberra tour again... haa but a few new places that i haven been =p the war memorial is really not a bad place to go... Guess what, i played cricket as well!!! haa... not the actual game though, just practicing...
Made rum balls yest night with Ruth, not really sure of how rum ball taste like actually but from the comments from peeps esp Nick, we know it such be the right stuff... thought of lots of new ways to modify it, hope can made a series of diff rum balls... =p
anyway just came back from gym just now and pass by the common room and saw dave playing pool by himself and so decided to have a game with him... dont know why today i played so badly.... maybe wasnt concentrating on the game, busy looking at him... haa... he is cute!!! =p but everyone here are kids!!! gosh... feeling so old in the group... haa =p
a nice summer in Canberra.... surprisingly...
